Why “Teapot and Feather Quills”?

When I began building this website, one of the first things I needed to decide on was the domain name. I knew I didn’t want something generic—I wanted a name that held personal meaning, a name that felt like home. That’s how Teapot and Feather Quills came to life.

Let’s start with the “Teapot.”

Tea has always been more than just a drink for me. It’s a ritual. A quiet comfort. A memory in a cup. I’ve loved tea for as long as I can remember, and it’s something I’ve passed down to my grandchildren. I used to make them tea when they were little, often serving it in mismatched cups with a warm slice of banana bread or some buttered toast. Those tea moments became a tradition—and, without realizing it, a legacy.

Now that they’re older, they still reach for a warm cup of tea. And when they do, I like to believe it brings back memories of our time together—stories shared at the kitchen table, laughter bubbling over warm mugs, and the gentle love that only a grandmother can give. For me, a teapot is not just a household item. It’s a symbol of connection, of family, and of love poured out generously.

I also love visiting cafes—there’s something about sitting in a quiet corner with a cup of tea and a good friend that just makes life feel a little more poetic. Whether I’m with a companion, my grandkids, or simply reflecting in solitude, tea has always been part of those soul-nourishing moments.

And then there’s the “Feather Quills.”

The feather quill is a classic symbol of writing—delicate, elegant, and steeped in history. It reminds me of the timeless art of storytelling, of slowing down to reflect and to write with intention. I’ve always been fascinated by the written word and how something as simple as ink and parchment can shape hearts, preserve memories, and even change lives.

The feather quill stands for my passion for writing and the stories I hope to share—stories that come from a place of wisdom, grace, and lived experience. It’s a nod to the beauty of tradition and the enduring power of words.

So why Teapot and Feather Quills?

Because this website is a blend of who I am:
A grandmother whose love is steeped like tea.
A writer who cherishes words, both spoken and written.
A woman who finds beauty in quiet moments and meaning in the simple things.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I hope you find comfort here, and maybe even a story or two that warms your heart—just like a good cup of tea.
